I called my friend at work for a shift change. I haven’t talked to her in months, and this is the conversation that we had:
Redford: “Hey, what up? How’s it going?”
Kirstyn: ”Not bad, boring here.”
R: “Really? I thought this lot’s busy.”
K: “Surprisingly, not today.”
R: “Say…would you be interested in switching shifts on May 18th? I’m working the day shift and you’re working the night shift.”
K: “But it says here that you’re working Area 11.”
R: “What? On mine it says Area 29 day, did the schedule change?”
K: “I don’t know, but, Redford’s working Area 29, and you’re working 11.”
R: “What? I’m Redford.”
K: “Oh…..OH! OH MY GOD! REDFORDDDDD!!!!”
R: “You didn’t know it was me?”
K: “Nooooooo…I thought you were Melky.”
Yes, I’m back at the parking lot. Yes, I’m also going back to school tomorrow too. I believe the best way to sum up how I’m feeling right now is with this:

"We have to go back to The Island, Kate!"
I guess you can say that The Island isn’t done with me yet…

I imagine not much has changed since I left two months ago. I’m working a day shift so I’m wondering if I get to run into the big boss today, who apparently, has gotten to know my name. It’s never a good thing for these people to know your name.
It’s funny how this all happens on a Tuesday. Next week I go back to school, and today I go back to work. It feels like an episode of LOST, and that I’m trapped in a situation because I haven’t finished what I was supposed to do. Not sure how much I can actually accomplish at work, but, we’ll see.
PS: For those of you who have watched Donnie Darko: doesn’t it seem as if LOST is heading down the same path? That someone has to do something to set everything right and get everyone back on the same track as before? That the ending will just be a closing out of a circular narrative with all the characters getting back on the plane and having it crash on the island? Because that was what was supposed to happen?
Or, as I’ve jokingly suggested, Walt is going to come back and kill Locke and save the day. He’s going to rub his temples and Locke’s head is going to explode, and it’ll be the most bizarre ending in TV history.

I’m putting on my jacket in the office and I’m about to leave to go home. This was at the end of my 10 hour shift and I’m pretty exhausted considering I didn’t get much rest the night before. As I’m zipping up my jacket I hear a customer scream.
“WHAT THE FUCK? LET ME OUT OF HERE!”
Man! I hope I can get out of here before she notices I’m in here. But no! She knocks!
So I go out and she tells me to get back into the booth to take her transaction. Of course, the minute someone tells me to do something, I say no. Then she screams that her credit card got canceled and she needs to find a way to pay. I told her use coins. She told me she doesn’t have coins and she has to pay cash. Well bitch, you’re shit out of luck!
If she had just asked me rather than scream and curse at me, I would have found a better way to help her. And her voice was annoying. It was like talking to a banshee. So I told her to push the help button, and she refused, so I was like, “alright, hold on a second then.”
I go back inside, turn off the lights to my office, punch in the security code, locked up. Then left. I was exhausted, I didn’t want to deal with her anymore and she just stood there screaming at me as I walked away.
